Meet the Author

Hi! I'm Dave. I founded an ecommerce company in 1995 and built it into a multi-million-dollar business over 20 years as CEO. I have been a successful investor with early investments in Google, Bitcoin, and Berkshire Hathaway. I was lucky to grow up with parents who taught me about investing, business, and taking responsibility—lessons that have stayed with me far more than anything I learned in school. I earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, but most of what I know about financial success came from self-education, hands-on experience, and learning from mentors—not the classroom. In fact, my time in school only reinforced what’s missing: financial literacy isn’t being taught, even at the college level. I wrote Financial Literacy 101 to change that. What started as a mission to teach my daughters has become a book for everyone who deserves a chance to understand money, build wealth, and take control of their future.
